Mrs. Priscilla Fosuah, popularly known as Odo Broni, has donated an undisclosed amount of money to support children receiving treatment at the Child Health Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in memory of the late Highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosuah, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
The donation was made on behalf of Daddy Lumba’s family on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, to mark what would have been the music icon’s 62nd birthday.
The delegation included Madam Afia Akoto, Mr. Danso, (Special Aid to Dr.E.T. Akonor), Bismark Owusu, (driver of the late DL), Miss Mabel Antwi, ( Manageress, DLFM) Mr. Charles Prince Kwabena Obeng (DJ HITMAN, ( Programmes Manager, DLfm), Libya Burga, (Coordinator of the event) Dr. Big Cedi (DLFM), Emmanuel Opoku Adusi (DJ Active, DLFM), Frank Kofi Jerry of Dlfm, Nhyiraba Kwadwo Sammy Bee (Head of News at DLFM) family members and children including Faustina Fosuah, Calvin Fosuah, Denise Fosuah, Darren, Charlyn Fosuah, Ciara Fosuah, Ohemaa Foriwaa, Katakyie, Awo and Kwadwo Fosuah Junior.

According to Odo Broni, the initiative was initially intended to support children born on September 29, coinciding with Daddy Lumba’s birthday.
However, during a visit to the facility, she and her team encountered critically ill children in urgent need of financial assistance and decided to extend the support.
Cash donations were distributed to children receiving treatment at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Child Health Daycare Oncology Unit.
In all, over sixty-two children benefited, with amounts varying according to their medical needs.
Odo Broni disclosed that her late husband had shared with her the story of his mother, Madam Comfort Gyamfi, popularly known as Ama Saah, who battled leukaemia until her passing — an experience that inspired her to support children in similar conditions.
She also recounted how Daddy Lumba supported her during her pregnancies, often paying six months in advance for her antenatal care until delivery, which motivated her to assist less privileged families struggling to pay their medical bills.
She expressed gratitude to all individuals who contributed financially to make the initiative a success and invoked God’s blessings upon them.
Mrs. Fosuah underscored that the initiative has come to stay and will be held annually, but will be rotated across all regions of Ghana.
She stressed that her late husband was a caring man and the family is committed to continuing his legacy of impacting generations, especially the less privileged.
She also prayed for divine healing for the children and for strength for the doctors, nurses, administrators and all staff of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Faustina Fosuah, sister of the late musician, said the family was motivated by the joy Daddy Lumba brought to many across the world through his music.
She thanked fans of the late legend for supporting the initiative and commended the staff of the hospital for their warm reception.
The Head of the Child Health Department and Chief Nursing Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Evelyn Kumah, expressed profound appreciation to Odo Broni and her team for choosing to commemorate Daddy Lumba’s birthday by supporting vulnerable families.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, and Nurses, the Head of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Miss Wendy Mensah, thanked Mrs. Fosuah and her team for their kind gesture and encouraged her to sustain the initiative.
Some beneficiaries, who had travelled from the Northern, Western and Central Regions among others, expressed gratitude, noting that financial constraints had made it difficult to purchase prescribed medications and pay medical bills.
They said the support would significantly ease their burden.
