The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South District, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah, together with staff of the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly and residents of Aboabogya, officially cut the sod for the construction of a 24-hour market in the community.
The project forms part of a government initiative aimed at promoting economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing local development across the country.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Patricia Pearl Ankrah emphasized the importance of the market project and commended the visionary leadership of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for making the initiative possible.
She noted that the market, which will operate on a 24-hour basis, is expected to boost commercial activities, improve livelihoods, and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the district and the nation as a whole.
The DCE further assured residents that all funds required for the project have been secured and disclosed that construction is expected to be completed within 24 months.

She added that the market will open up Aboabogya for increased business opportunities and serve as a major commercial hub within the district.
The Project Consultant, Engineer Daniel Yeboah, stated that the construction of the 24-hour market will commence soon and is expected to be completed within the stipulated 24-month period.
He further explained that the market is designed to be a modern facility equipped with all the essential amenities required for efficient market operations.
The project will include a daycare centre, restaurants, a women’s bank, trading stalls, and other supporting facilities.
He added that the market will be easily accessible and is expected to boost commercial activities and improve economic opportunities within the area.
