Highlife singer Kofi Nti, celebrated as one of the finest vocalists of his generation, made a return to the music scene this week. Despite being successful in the early and mid-2000s as a protégé of Ofori Amponsah and Daddy Lumba, Nti has been largely inactive for over a decade and his career has seeminly taken a nosedive.
This week, he released a new single titled Akoma, featuring Ghanaian dancehall legend Samini. The track, which was produced by sound engineer King Dee, marks a comeback for the Rakia hitmaker.
Kofi Nti recently visited the studios of DLFM to promote his latest project on the DL Hour Show hosted by Nana Adjoa Silky. The single had its first radio premiere on DLFM.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Nti revealed he crossed paths with Samini in London at the Daddy Lumba concert. Samini inquired about his career and promised to collaborate on a song. When Akoma was ready, Kofi Nti reached out, and Samini agreed to be part of it.
