How to earn more money with Facebook Instream ads

Increase followers and returning viewers.
It’s simple: The larger your fan base is, the more likely people are to return to watch your videos and earn you money. To help increase followers and returning viewers:

  • Create a compelling theme, concept or cast. Continuity across all of your videos can encourage viewers to return and watch more of your videos.
  • Introduce more of your content portfolio to new audiences. Bulk upload your catalogue of videos not already available.
  •  Publish on a regular schedule. Regular posting can encourage viewers to return for new content.
  • Run ads in your video content.
With in-stream ads, you can include ads before or during your video and earn money from your video content. People must view the entire ad to continue watching a video. You receive a portion of the revenue from the videos people see.
  • Run ads in your live videos.
You can earn money from in-stream ads in your live videos on Facebook and Instagram. Similar to standard video content, you receive a share of the revenue from the video ads that your viewers see.
  • Optimise your in-stream video content
For your videos to be eligible for in-stream ads, they should run for at least 15 seconds. If your content exceeds three minutes, edit in a natural break at the one-minute mark. With Advantage+ placements, the maximum amount of time in which an ad may appear in a video is within 30 seconds for static image ads and 45 seconds for video ads.
  • Once you’ve set up monetisation for your live videos, you can incorporate in-stream ads. Ensure that you:- Plan your live video in advance. Then, schedule your live video and inform your fans with posts and stories what time the live video will begin.
    – Share your live video on your Page and in relevant groups.
    – Embed the live video on your website or blog. You can find the embed code in the Live Producer settings. You can also let others embed the video on your behalf.
    – Stream for at least 15 minutes and give your viewers some time to join.

Content to avoid in Facebook Instream ads

Avoid content that reduces payout. Content that consists of or includes any of the following may not be eligible for monetisation.

  • Tragedy and conflict
  • Violence
  • Adult content
  • Drug or alcohol abuse
  • Profane and derogatory language
  • Misinformation
  • Spam
  • Bullying

Can I repost your YouTube content on Facebook?

Absolutely! You can as YouTube and Facebook have their own Studios and platforms. Directly uploading and cross-sharing will also help you to get more views than usual. However, you must ensure you own the copyright to the content or have permission to share it. Facebook has strict policies regarding copyright. If your content uses copyrighted material without permission, it can be flagged and demonetized. It’s important to prioritize copyright compliance to avoid issues with monetization and potential account troubles.

Can I monetize existing video content on my Facebook page that was uploaded prior to my application for Facebook’s monetization program?

Yes you can. As long as the content is original and following the community guidelines you can always upload them and monetize them, so don’t worry about it.
