Ghanaian sports journalist, Kofi Asare Brako, also known as Abatay, has revealed that he regrets leaving Peace FM.
Abatay, who worked with Peace FM for almost a decade, is regarded by many as one of the greatest sports broadcasters in Ghana’s history. Many consider him the father of Twi commentary.
The Akyem Oda native shocked sports listeners across the nation in 2008 when he resigned from his position as Head of Sports at Despite Media and moved to rival station Adom FM.
But in an interview with DLFM’s Roman Fada on the “Ye Kurakura Mu” show, Abatey expressed regret over the controversial move, saying he wouldn’t have made that choice if it were today.
Confessing that money was a factor in persuading him, he disclosed that he realized he had made a bad move after just one year at Adom FM.
According to him, Peace FM is by far the best station in the country and its owner Osei Kwame ‘Despite’ is an amazing person.
Asare Brako currently works at Ministry of Sports as an aide to the Sports Minister.
