In a tragic incident Thursday morning, a nurse in his 40s from the Bimbilla Hospital lost his life after he was hit by a Kia Renault.
The deceased was reportedly returning from his night shift when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Eyewitnesses reported that a Benz bus travelling in the wrong direction forced the Kia Renault to swerve, leading to the fatal accident.
The Nanumba North Municipal Chief Executive, Abdulai Yaqoub confirmed the incidents to DL Fm’s Okogyeabour Ocran attributed the cause of the crash to the absence of road markings on that stretch.
He says the road is still under construction and it would be prudent for the drivers and other road users to tread cautiously.
According to the MCE, The police has transported the nurse’s body to the hospital morgue, while the drivers involved have been apprehended and are currently in police custody.
He then called on the general public especially those plying the Bimbila road to thrive with care because, it’s a market day at Bimbila and therefore, the road will be busy.
In his assertions, police personnel have been deployed to vantage points to control the traffic situation on the stretch.
