Monetization Of Elections Is An Eminent Threat To Ghana’s Democracy – Nana Kwadwo Bediako Mamfe

One of the parliamentary aspirants for Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern region, Nana Kwadwo Bediako Mamfe has said, it’s unfortunate the way the authorities in Ghana are silently watching people to weaken the Democratic fibre as a country.

During an exclusive interview with DL FM’s Okogyeabour Ocran, he said allowing this monetization in our body politics censures competency and it’s also an eminent threat to our democracy.

This response follows the number of anomalies occurred in the NPP Parliamentary primaries where issues of vote buying took the centre stage.

He said he is worried about the situation because, there are people who have served the party but because he’s not having money, he can not win election.

Nana Kwadwo Bediako Mamfe maintained the need for a collective effort to curtail this act in our body politics so that, we can get competent leadership to lead the affairs on the country.

He therefore appealed to the leadership of the NPP to take a look at these things in order to sanitize the system and also promote the Grounds of the party.
