Former Black Stars player, Tony Yeboah is of the view that football in Ghana is currently dead.

According to the ex-Leeds United striker, he is totally indifferent about the game in his country, as it is not functioning properly.

Speaking with Peace FM, Tony Yeboah stated that the terrible state our football is the punishment we got from having incompetent and corrupt administrators.

“I don’t know what is going on because I don’t follow. Everyone knows Ghana football is dead because they didn’t listen to the advice we gave them from the beginning.

“So I think they are currently facing the punishment. If you involve bribes and stuff like that in football, you will destroy the game,” he said.

Tony Yeboah, 56, is widely regarded as one of the greatest Ghanaian and African footballers of all time. Known for scoring spectacular goals, he won the Bundesliga golden boot on two occasions in 1992–93, 1993–94 playing for Eintracht Frankfurt.

He also scored 29 goals in 59 matches for Black Stars from 1985 to 1997.
