Give All Presidential Candidates A Level Playing Field – NPP Founding Member

Mr. Isaac Kwabena Sarkodie Boahin, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono East Region, has called for a level playing field for the various candidates running in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

According to him, giving all candidates an equal chance would greatly aid the delegates in making wise choices and selecting the best candidate to guide the party in maintaining its hold on power in the general elections of 2024.

Mr. Boahin stated in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kintampo that “if the leadership of the party is able to provide fair and level-playing fields to all aspirants without biases, then we can make progress in the next general election.
“The same must occur in the Parliamentary primaries because imposing candidates who are not the people’s choice would narrow our political fortunes in the elections,” he continued.

Mr. Boahin reminded the NPP delegates that the party faces an uphill battle to maintain political dominance in 2024 and urged them not to be swayed by financial rewards in favor of choosing candidates who could lead the party to complete victory. .
He continued, “We must take into consideration a candidate who is well marketable, easier to communicate with the general public, and has the ability and charisma to lure the electorate for more votes.”

The founding member of Bono East also urged the delegates to select parliamentary candidates who have the potential to win or keep their seats in the House of Representatives.

If you let them camp you somewhere and entice you with cash and gifts, he warned, it would be difficult for the party to have an impact on the election of 2024.

He urged the NPP leadership to forbid the practice of some candidates camped out and paying delegates to vote for them.
