Ghanaian industrialist and inventor, Apostle Kwadwo Safo has voiced out his frustrations about not receiving enough recognition in Ghana. He believes this is because the country values formal education more than practical industrialization.
Apostle Safo, who is also the founder of the Kristo Asafo Church, said that many Ghanaians focus more on reading, writing, and speaking “big grammar” rather than appreciating the benefits of local industrial innovations.
He explained that while he creates products similar to those made by foreigners, people in Ghana tend to support imported goods instead of locally made ones.
“Because they feel education is better and what I do has no value, I am not regarded in this country. They condemned my vision and projects because they said reading and writing are far better,” he ;lamented in an interview with Cheddar.
“When you want to impact your knowledge of industrialization, they will tell you no. They prefer to study and speak the big grammar.”
He also highlighted Ghana’s economic struggles and said the lack of focus on industrialization has contributed to the country’s debt.
“Look at the debts we are burdened with? It’s sad. The foreigners are dictating to us because we depend on them,” he added.
Apostle Safo ended with a plea: “Help me to help you before I die.”
